LIPSTICK is a visual exploration of beauty, identity and transformation, built around one of the most familiar objects of self-expression. Moving between cinematic storytelling, fashion imagery, graphic experimentation and mixed-media animation, the project takes lipstick beyond its conventional role as a cosmetic object and turns it into a visual language of its own. The film begins in an unusual setting: a strangely familiar, almost timeless waiting room, inhabited by a collection of characters caught in the monotony of everyday life. This opening sequence draws inspiration from the cinematic worlds of Jacques Tati and Roy Andersson, particularly their ability to find humour and absurdity in ordinary situations. Through carefully composed frames, architectural symmetry, choreographed movements and understated gestures, I wanted to create a world that feels both recognisable and subtly disorientating. A place where time seems suspended and the ordinary becomes quietly surreal. As the story unfolds, this restrained environment begins to give way to something else. A shift in mood, colour and energy takes us from the muted, controlled atmosphere of the waiting room into a more liberated and expressive universe. The transition becomes a visual metaphor for breaking away from routine, expectations and the roles we unconsciously play. At the centre of this transformation is lipstick: a small but powerful object that carries an enormous cultural and personal significance. A gesture of self-expression, a change of attitude, a way of seeing and presenting oneself differently. What starts as an everyday ritual becomes an invitation to embrace individuality and step into a different version of yourself. Visually, the film moves between contrasting worlds and visual languages. Carefully constructed live-action sequences meet fashion-inspired imagery, graphic interventions, animation and experimental visual effects. Colour, texture, light and movement become essential storytelling elements, shifting between the polished and the unexpected, the playful and the surreal. Rather than treating beauty as a fixed ideal, LIPSTICK celebrates its ability to be reinvented. Ultimately, it is about individuality, confidence and the freedom to express yourself without having to fit into anyone else's expectations.
